Head of BILD Division and Head of Magazines

Dr Andreas Wiele was appointed Head of BILD Division and Head of Magazines in January 2008. He has been the President of Axel Springer Magazines and Axel Springer International since November 2000.

A member of the Executive Board of Axel Springer Verlag AG, Berlin/ Hamburg, Germany, Andreas joined Gruner + Jahr in 1987 after receiving a Master of French Law, Master of Law and a PhD with emphasis on international media law. He held various positions at Gruner + Jahr, starting out as Staff Editor of Hamburger Morgenpost in 1987 and moving up to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Offi cer at Gruner + Jahr Publishing, USA. He has held top positions in the US, France
and Germany.
