Giles Richter
CEO & Co-Founder

Giles Richter is an expert in mobile publishing with over 10 years of experience as a new media strategist and entrepreneur. In 2000 he founded Tokyo-based wireless consultancy Mobile Media Japan, assisting foreign multinationals to enter the Japanese media market. In 2003 he established Mowave, a mobile applications provider based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to provide entertainment solutions to publishers and media companies. He has since led Mowave’s expansion into 25 markets in Europe, Asia, and North America and overseen the deployment of Mowave’s proprietary social networking and user-generated content platforms.

Giles serves as Director of International Alliances for the Mobile Content Forum (MCF), a trade consortium of 250 leading Japanese companies in wireless. He has authored numerous reports on mobile, convergence and new media development. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University on Japanese magazine publishing and is fluent in Japanese.
